I'm looking to get a small vga lcd screen to display music information etc so i can use my HTPC fo music without having to have the tv on.

Does anyone know of any cheap screen that are vga compatible?

I know you can mod a ps1 screen for about £30-40 so i'm looking for a screen aroung thr £50 mark that is already set up to recieve a vga signal.

Any ideas (or anyone want to sell me a pre-modded ps1 screen?!)

    Thanks

I am also interested in these, or the size to fit into two drives bays would be ideal :)

im in the process of doing the psone mod here at the moment.
I`ve the the wiring all together jus need to fit the vga connector on the other end. Those holes are really small and my fingers are too chubby

Excellent! I think i'm going to give it a go. Are you mounting it in the case? I want to mount mine some distance from the case by using a long vga cable.

Please let me know how you mod goes, and if you have an top tips!

Im mounting mine in the top of my case.

THe plan is to have it work a bit like a top loader cd player in that it opens and closes with hydraulic type things.

THe easiest way to do the mod would be to get a vga cable off an old monitor and then wire it up from there.

    cheers kopite,

Does the screen need external power, or is there some way to power the screen through the vga cable?

ebay has touch screens for around the £100 mark. Lilliput ones are supposed to be good.

It needs external power. ALthough if you get the car adapter for the screen you can mod it to work from a molex connector
