This may be old hat to everyone now but there is an e-mail going around asking you to update your security details for Nationwide online banking. If you give them the information, they will totally empty your accounts.
Delete on sight - even if you are a Nationwide customer.

My favourite was when he said that someone had had a heart attack inside the person's bank account, so they needed their bank account details and sort code to save him urgently.

haha, i was just about to mention fonejacker!
    That guy's a genius!

"but what bank are you calling from??"
    "your bank, sir"
    "but which bank is that??"
"the bank that you bank with!"

he also does good ones with Currys/Dixons, asking for Divduh players (DVD), Teevs (TVs).... and calls directory enquiries to ask for the phone number of "Hmmmmvh" (HMV) ... pure comedy!

.... but in reality, ignore any e-mails from anyone requesting bank details, nomatter what they say it's for.
