    Hi,

I'm waiting to get a 6600 GT from Kustoms after receiving excellent
service before. However, it would appear they're dragging their feet
a bit to update the website - most other sites - scan, ocuk, overclockers,
even pc world have 5 or 6 different types...

I'd really like to buy one from kustoms as I believe good service is worth
paying a wee bit more for, but they don't seem to stock any at all and the
nearest thing is a 9800 pro which they're still selling for £144!?

Is there a reason why you're not stocking them yet as they seem to be
excellently reviewed in all quarters and they are pretty cheap too...

    Thanks very much!

Email them! this is not a thread that shouldnt be started on the forum until youve done so in which case, if you want something specific request it. theres even a section on the forum dedicated to products suggestions

the shop is mainly for modding so they wont have the huge selection other shops have

    aye,

I already have emailed them weeks and weeks ago and they
reckoned they'd be getting some in soonish. I know they're not
stocking an enormous range, but surely the 6600 gts are amongst the
most popular mid-range cards at the moment - why would I want to
'kustomise' a 9800 pro when an unkustomised 6600 gt is faster!?

The simple reason why they don't stock a wide variety of components/peripherals alphabeta77... is because Kustom PC's is primarily a modding shop ;)

They're a very busy modding shop at that, and it's highly likely they've completely forgotten your original email enquiry regarding the 6600GT's.

As already suggested therefore... rather than posting in the 'Hardware' section of the forum, which there's every chance it won't be read by those to whom yer original question was/is addressed... another quick email would have been (might still be) the better option open to you :)

kustoms sell a 6800 GT, will that do?
edit: and a 6800 for £210, these are the bottom two cards in a AGP graphics card range.

(off topic to answer a question :D )

theyre lyrics from my kid brother's (and mates) mixtape. just some lines i like from a couple of songs, dunno how they read to anyone who hasnt heard the song, probably nothing special but they work really well when you hear them.

"Girls (You cant live without them) / Girls (You know what it is about them)
Boys (You want a bit of a hint) / Well its downstairs, has lips and needs a mint!"

although a very simple chorus i love the last line to it :D

personally i think you should of e-mailed them about this and not posted it pon the public form just remember they have a shop to run and cant be online updateding the site 24/7 and they all have lives out side of kustom justgive them a chance and things like this should be sent via e-mail in my opinion.

    Guys, chill out.

We're not stocking 6600GT on AGP format for one simple reason - Gainward haven't produced them yet.

To be honest though, it is taking a bit long to sort, so we'll probably be getting something else in the interim.

We're looking at AOpen just now.

    heh!

    Cheers graeme,

I had been awaiting a sane touch - my motivations for posting in the
forum and not emailing was that several suppliers have cited difficulties
in obtaining AGP versions of the 6600gt and thought that the forum
members might be able to 'assist' I therefore thought it'd be wise to ask in an area of the forum related to hardware - 'hardware section' methoughts - and see if anyone knew.

    The 'forum logic' of

'personally i think you should of e-mailed them about this and not posted it pon the public form just remember they have a shop to run and cant be online updateding the site 24/7 and they all have lives out side of kustom justgive them a chance and things like this should be sent via e-mail in my opinion.'

seems daft to me - if all the 100s of forum members simply bombarded
the kustoms mailbox with these sorts of questions, they really wouldn't
have a life outside the shop - furthermore if it's posted on the forum and
someone says - 'Gainward are having difficulties delivering them' then the
question is answered for all to see in future, instead of 'emailing' graeme.

    also :

'The simple reason why they don't stock a wide variety of components/peripherals alphabeta77... is because Kustom PC's is primarily a modding shop''

the 6600 gt and the 6800 gt cards are as mainstream as they come - do you
honestly think that Kustom's aren't wanting to stock them? Word is they
don't stock AMD either... ;o) Furthermore I find it hard to believe what
you say when their advert at the top of this forum states Kustoms is:
'your one-stop shop for a HUGE RANGE of case-mods, cooling, PERIPHERALS
    AND COMPONENTS'

Anyway, thanks for the reply Graeme, I'd figured there'd be delivery issues
-there also appears to be some quality control issues with a few of the
early batches - so I'd prefer to wait on your judgement on 'what's good'!

I totally agree with you on the forum vs email issue - I think it becomes like an FAQ section - how about an FAQ section for tech Q's about current products (such as the one I asked recently about the SilentMaxx cpu fan controller - I'm sure someone else will ask it again in some lifetime ;)).

Thing is Kustom staff can't guarantee responses on the forum as they can with email. They can go days or more without time to access the forums so it's simply not practical. If they do access the forums it's more likely to be in their own time at home. You gotta give them some chance to have a break ! :)

Things can be answered quickly and more thoroughly via email.

well the point is I wasn't wanting to bother the Kustoms staff too much - as fireblade said - they're very, very busy and I thought the Kustom's forum might be a good place to ask - as jnm21 said - it creates a faq-style environment as well.

But I'll know in future to simply email such queries to Graeme, god forbid ask
in the kustoms forum - I mean it's not there for that sort of thing!

    Thanks for the clarification anyway!

p.s. and apologies fireblade if I upset you in any way - sharkey pm'd me to say I may have 'belittled' you - which certainly wasn't my intention - simply pointing out contradicatory impressions.
