This is the greatest thing I have ever seen on the internet.
I can see Phishing as the next theme night
Hi are all the games compatible with my operating system thanks xox
GTA IV needs you to download an update for GFWL to work on Windoge 8. Such google.
Otherwise all fine.
No, the last official Operating System Microsoft released was Windows 7, 8 was just a trial to see if how many *cough* idiots *cough* would install a half arsed OS on their system. It never really got out of beta. We're still awaiting a successor to 7 that works. Word has it we'll see that successor about this time next year.
8.1 gets better every week. They've even added a Shut Down button to the 'Start Menu' now.
It's always fun to see what little surprises get added every Tuesday. Or rather, what things they put back that were taken away before.
Guys, it was a joke – in keeping with the doge theme. She's running Windows 7.
And even if she wasn't, she wouldn't be an idiot.
The post was meant as a troll and wasn't meant to be taken seriously, sorry.
Personally, I don't have or run Win 8 for a variety of reasons (mainly the gui), so when someone pokes their head above the parapet enquiring about it I take a swipe with my tar brush.
apart from the troll post........so...microsoft are basically "window updating" windows 8 to windows 7 then??
Not quite, but there's certainly changes and improvements continually afoot. I've never had a strong dislike for Win 8, but for sure, it's a heck of a lot better than it first was. 8.1 was a good improvement, and now, I quite like the new start menu.
so they are slowly relising there mega-gaf
Its not bad just a pain for certain things like emulators as you need compatability fixes, or modded files to get them to work right on Win8, also not sure about games.
Once you modify it to behave like 7.
On a more serious note they are fixing things but it should never have been allowed to happen in the first place.
For me the single biggest reason for running it is the improved boot times.
From a corporate perspective it also makes it easier to manage my Server 2012 installs.
Just a heads up , Flatout 2 is only £1.49 on steam for the time being.
I also really like how easy it is to relocate the user folders to another drive on Win8 - great for setups with a small SSD for boot.
And the file copy window is much handier!
Anyway... LAN soon
LAN Music started from scratch, keeping nothing more than a few of the classics, but otherwise it's a clean sheet. All on Spotify now - so the mashups are a thing of the past, but the game tracklists will go 'public' at the end of each game making it super easy to pick out anything you like, and the traditional theme for each style of game is still there of course.
Gives me something to listen to when setting up the new game server this week
Incidentally, the Grand Theft Auto tracklist is actually amazing.
Bless you for putting them on Spotify, Graeme. It saves me frantically Shazam-ing half the songs you play. ^_^'
Going to do a testing night to set up servers this weekend - will either be Saturday or Sunday evening.
Few peeps fancy joining / bring a laptop / help make sure servers for CSS / PropHunt / Armagetron are working alright?
Will confirm which day near the weekend, also depending on when others may be free.
Sounds good! Pre Lan's are always good fun!
