Filco's Majestouch keyboards with n Key rollover were massively popular at our booth at the insomnia 43 LAN event a couple of weeks ago - it's good to see that word is getting round that these unassuming keyboards are fantastic bits of kit. Unassuming I say because at first glance there's nothing too special about the Filco keyboards - they lack the bells, whistles (rather, flashy lights and extra buttons) of other gaming keyboards, so why so much money? It becomes clear when you push a key - the classic microswitch feel of keyboards from days gone by is a reminder that these are using a technology built to last. The keyboards are available in three flavours depending on the preferred switch type eg Black Swith / Linear - offers a linear force and no noticable click, ideal for FPS games where repeated key use is likely. With a high operating force, they're ideal for avoiding mis-keying. Brown Switch / Tactile - have a lower operating force, intended as a balance between use for gaming and typing use. These have a more noticable click point. Blue Switch / Click - have a medium operating force, but with a very obvious click point. Considered the best key type for word processing, and providing a loud (but quite satisfying) click sound. We now also have customisable Esc / WASD key clusters and key pullers for these keyboards. Although supplied by Filco, they'll fit other Cherry MX keyboards such as the Das keyboard range too. Check out our Mechanical Keyboards page.
