Recently when I switch on my computer there is nothing on the monitor. I have tried the monitor on a different computer and it works fine. If I remove the power cable then plug it back in the display works. I have updated graphics card (GeForce 8600 GT) drivers but issue persists. I am thinking it may be graphics card. Any help in trouble shooting this issue would be appreciated

is there a vga out on your motherboard? if so, plug the monitor into that...if its ok i would think the gpu may be the issue

I am currently away so am not able to check but will do so when I get back.
One more point about the issue. The issue only happens when I start the computer in the morning. If it restarted during the day after its initial boot up there is display on the screen

are you sure its not hibernating ? check your power settings and put them to high performance and see if that helps

Could it be warming up? I have a faint memory of my old 4870 doing this.
