I'll be watching the Fota one.
Not just since it has 8/10 teams and 16/20 drivers too :D

I can't see them letting this happen to be honest, it's just some muscle flexing on the part of FOTA, and FIA are calling their bluff.

It doesn't surprise me that they've announced this a good few hours before the deadline, thus giving everyone time to come to a proper conclusion.

However, if they do fail to make peace and this breakaway goes ahead, I will be watching it, not F1!

I'd even put up with the fact it'll probably be shown on Sky with masses of adverts, at least the racing will feature more than the damn politics of it all.

Oh and by the way, there is actually a race this weekend, in case anyone has forgotten ;) So, Go Go Go Jenson:rolleyes:

I for one hope that the FIA fall flat on their faces with this one. I'd love to see Bernie and Max arranging a race with just Williams and Force India in it (obviously including the 3 new teams, but I can't remember their names). LMFAO

I don't care which one starts in 2010!

As long as one of them broadcast a race in HD (hopefully in a wet race for loads of action and high speed crashing!) :)

    *Breaking news*

Ferrari confirms race legend Michael Schumacher will replace injured driver Felipe Massa. - Reuters.

Should be an interesting few races to the end of the season...

    *update*

BMW are now pulling out of F1. Not sure if it's from immediate effect, or at the end of the season...

This is the best bit of F1 news i've ever heard.

It sounds like it's a bit of a Ferrari publicity stunt to be honest but I think it'll be excellent.

P.S. BMW will race to the end of this season but after '09 they're kaput...

    Argh, beaten to it

And yes, BMW are pulling out at the end of the season, not immediately.

I will make sure to actually watch a race with Schumacher in it, purely just to see if he stills get up to his old tricks of driving over the top of people or suchlike.

Maybe they'll even go so far as to dress him in a purple jacket, fit a sidecar with a sniggering dog and add spikes to the wheels.

Then it would be truly immersive and everybody would definitely tune in.

But yes, I liked how he brought a bit of character and the occasional surprise to the sport.

If this return does encourage him to have a go full time, and USF1 manage to secure Jacques Villeneuve for 2010 then it'd be just like old times.

I think Valencia is very lucky, what was going to be a boring race has suddenly got interesting. Hopefully ETA don't come and spoil the party:(

    DO WANT :D

I really think what would make F1 more interesting is more design freedom, weapons and random hazards on track.

Looks like Schumacher has pulled out of his F1 return....

    *I think*
He went off in a huff due to him not being able to test the car before the next race. Think FIA required all the teams to sign off on a bending of the rules to let Schumacher test the car during this 4 week break between races, which is usually against the rules. Mclaren refused to sign off on this...

Williams and Red Bull/Toro Rosso were the teams who refused to sign off on MS testing this year's Ferrari. McLaren were OK with it.

Thanks :) I was not sure if it was one of those teams :D lol

*Just heard it on the news*
Looks like it's a Neck injury that's keeping Schumacher from returning...

allegedly ;) It could be that as Schuey couldn't test the new car before the race he didn't want to look like a prat if he wasn't competitive.

To quote a popular satirical motoring website,

On a serious note, it's a real shame for the Valencia organisers. With Alonso/Renault not going and now the 'Schumacher Effect' gone, those 12 blokes who had actually bought tickets will probably stay home and mistreat an animal while lobbing tomatoes at each other instead.

    [/stereotype]

Well done Jenson! I would have liked Rubens to win but still a nice result.
