    Some Notes:

I was made redundant from my job at the end of October and started a new job at the start of April. Some petrol was bought using money off vouchers. Car insurance is from November 2012 to 2013 and includes my dad and brother as a learner but only from June. Running costs are from after the 2012 MOT.

I really don't want to add up all the money I've spent on petrol all year....

Fair play to you for keeping an eye on it though. I think I'd find it pretty soul destroying!

    holy s**t....
    Im pretty lucky i guess.
My motorbike isnt too bad to run.
£116 per year insurance - fully comp
    £42 per year Road Tax
    £30 a year MOT
£15 every 6 months for oil changes, so £30 a year.
£10 chain lube, cleaner and air filter oil fluids per year...

Fuel wise, £12 to fill the tank, 100+ miles per tank, depending on how i ride..

exactly the reason why i stuck to motorbikes and not cars :D

being on my mothers insurance on her BMW 530D per year was more expensive than running my bike for a whole year...

Glade you guys are finding this interesting / useful. I bought a Fiesta ST last month and to date it's cost me just over £3000. This is about the same for Nissan Almera from May 2011 to now

Ouch. I can relate; I'm rolling 25mpg at the moment... 28 on a run... Just payed for 12 months tax, need two new rear tyres next month which is about £400 worth. I can see a need to fit new plugs, sleeves, and coils soon as well.

    Cars eh? :)
