can i install xp oem on a complete new build

i would be greatful if someone could tell me if i can install xp oem on my new build pc,the version is already installed on my old pc which is still in use, someone told me if you replace too many parts you have to buy a new os.My problem is that i have just bought vista home premium 64 bit but i am having second thoughts about it because of driver issues.

You can install an OEM copy of windows onto another computer but you must remove it from the first computer before you built your new computer or after you have copied all your data across.

Well okay then, NO unless you buy another copy of Windows for the first computer

i believe the answer is no.. isn't the OEM non-transferrable?

if so, you can't transfer it to another PC. once the original PC dies.. then XP installation dies with it.

Agree with Chenks, OEMs are licensed to the build not the person and non-transferable. Retail is transferable as long as it is removed from the initial install

Vista is pretty stable for a lot of hardware by most accounts. But - on the other hand - it can go desasterously wrong. So it's a bit of a mixed bag really...but it wont hurt to give it a go.

If you check your hardware first, then decide if you actually can get Vista Drivers.
