Today of all days, im sick and tired of hte constant drop in service from GMail, today its been down for 4 hours almost for me, and im still waiting to check my email. i know its still in Beta, but it used to be stable when i first registerd. damn im sick of this! at least hotmail works when i want it too

i don't think you can expect anything else really. as you say, it is a beta service. i'm sure the reason for it being down is to make it ready for final launch.

if it's that important to have a dependable account then any web based free service wouldn't be what i'd use.

thats true, however i have 3 emails, my ISP email is my main one i only use if i have too for example, paypal and subscriptions. i use my gmail for signing up to things like ree softwhere and beta tests. or like today, Sky by Broadband. and i use my hotmail for thigns i dont drust liek mailing lists, forums, and other thigns that may not be trustworthy. so i have 3 levels of security, and my gmail is my Buffer level! :P

I sometimes get an error, a quick refresh and 9 times out of 10 it fixes it and I'm off enjoying my wonderful Gmail account.

Much prefer Gmail to Hotmail - check hotmail to clear the kak, check forum threads and see whether old old friends have said hello.

Gmail is the future

Um I managed to access my email account several times in that supposed 4 hours of downtime so im thinking that this is mabey an individual problem rather than a server issue. I can't say I've ever had a problem with gmail, in what must well over a year of having my account I've never experienced any downtime.

Use firefox and G-Mail. Never had a problem with either, never anydown time? I think it must be an indervidual thing?

Gmail is 100% reliable for me

I have gmail as my account for important stuff, then a hotmail for medium stuff, then a hotmail spam address for stuff which I really do not trust but you need to give your email

I would say it isn't GMail, it's you. I mean, whenever I check GMail, it's up..
