Project ~BiG FFusion~

Hi,

Right, i have a thread already on the go about a case which i was previously planning to use for this mod, and if i cant find a singular case in that thread suitable enough this mod Project "BiG FFusion" is going to be my backup, and this is more than likely... (and is a premod to my 2nd stage).

This idea/answer is basically the spawn of a number of annoying problems or "niggles" i've had with previous cases, little things which i've found a let down to the overall case...

So i had the idea, which was mentioned on another thread as i stayed off the original subject, of getting two "decent" looking cases and fusing them together to produce the space and facilities i needed for this mod.

People keep mentioning big[ish] cases and saying that this isn't necessary (and this is big enough), but without mentioning what i want/planned to have in it i cant show you how wrong you are... There is "alot" to fit in, and if you read this THREAD it can show you want options have been discussed so far...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What do i want/need from you?
What i need from the 'Kustompc' forum is original cases with decent features, what i dont want is anything specified on the "thread" link marked above... This including cases made by "lian li", and it explains why i made this choice there too.
The reason im asking for such a unusual request is im interested to see what the kustompcs forum can come up with... and typically you lot come up with some decent idea's... and in this 'case', lol, some decent cases too hopefully..
Im basically looking for server cases, or large towers, which have some personality, something unusual...
Just to give you lot some idea of what im looking at, if you arn't sure already im putting something 'sketchy' in mspaint...
( So give me 30mins to put that together, look at that and then if you have
anything interesting to add, idea's and the like i'll be more than pleased to
have a read! )
(Pic's Below of plans for Wavemaster)
Hi, it may have taken me alot longer than planned but im actually quite pleased with the results of playing around with this rough design... and i think this will be the case for the job... Comments and idea's welcome!!
Good Points,
This can be modded and moved else-where... Which could be interesting!!
And This makes modding the chassis very easy!
Has the ~Big FFusion's~ Ideal partner been found?
kkkkkkkkkkk ( Stay tuned to find out soon... )
I considered joining 2 cases together but then decided i wasnt home enough to justify my spare time being taken up in the garage with filler and spray cans.
I wish i did have the time mind you
Slight Update,
Come to think of it can anyone recommend any "decent" filler, something
which works when bridging metal with plastic is really what im after...
I'll be needing that...
Oh, and another thing is im ordering some cases soon, but anything past that might be a bit slow.. Im going a tad over budget so far, but im not going to sacrifice anything so i might put the second, "the actual mod", on hold for a week or two...
Well, if anyone has a second hand wave-master they want to sell me im interested... that would help,
but im not too sure that going to happen. The budget is £80 (hopefully including postage and packaging).. and the state of it does matter too much.. this is going to be the one im hacking apart!
Well, it was worth a try!
I just bought 6 Fsp psu's and have taken the cabling, connectors out of them not mentioning the fans and grills... and am in the process of making 4 and 24pin extention cables so i can run them neatly around the case out of sight, and im pritty hopeful so far...
Lets say i pritty much got given them, and there not much good for anything else...
I have been running up a few plans which im in the process of looking at how much its going to cost me, and thanks to "winston" im upgrading the system components for this mod to a slightly higher spec..
Cheers,
Damian,
Does it have to be an original Wavemaster Damian?
If it doesn't... why not just order a brand new Tsunami Dream? At just £79.00 (+ P&P)... it's just abou tthe right price
Nice idea,
The problems being as i was looking for the features shown above in the pictures anyway... and secondly if i cut and shut the case i need a side panel without a window for the top section... If only it was that easy!
I have drawn the conclusion that the wavemaster did all that, comes with side panels which i can cut-down to fit the top section... Otherwise i need to as well as buy the case mentioned buy two new side panels.
I also had something in mind with the sliding psu feature on the wavemaster, dont take me wrong i appreciate the suggestions, even though i sometimes sound as if i dont.
I certainly want it for the lower half of the fusion mod, and i'll need it for the top half too if that is so, basically because of the wave pattern shaped into the case, and as im sanding and filling to make the two look one that can only be done if the fronts are identical.
Do you have any idea's?
(whilst waiting for income to increase budget)
Just knocking up two huge 20pin extension cables, one being 46 and the other 34 inches in length.. I've yet to choose a braiding kit for them but im looking at this one at the moment, and if i buy three this will cover both ext. cables and two psu's... So until then i've left the new connectors off.
This will allow me to run these lengthly cables around my finished case to where i need them neatly, i've measured them up and i think i should be able to do this with cable to spare.. by a few inches or so.
I still have the question above on filling which i wouldn't mind being a bit clued up on, and im open for suggestions on what to use the wave-masters usb/audio hidy hole for as shown in the pic's above.
I have an idea for one, but i wouldn't mind something original for the other, something a bit different...
Does anyone know of anywhere i could get four strudy wheels/casters for the under-carrage of my project...
please...
