Whoppa Stoppas !

These arrived today to go on my Forester FXT before the serious modding starts



They are hoooge !

I must admit to getting a strange tingly feeling in my groin whenever I look at them or touch them...should I be worried ? :blush:

Lad i know has 330mm discs and 6 pot calipers on his Cossie...gives me the same sort of feeling mate...

Please excuse the ignorance, but as a driver who knows a very good, local and trustworthy mechanic I just worry about filling the thing with petrol and washing it.

So are they brakes?

Yes mate - it's a BBK or Big Brake Kit - 330mm disks and four pot calipers.

These ones are made by Alcon for Prodrive who are a supplier of approved uprated performance parts for Subaru and the like..

and even though you are ugrading the brakes, the insurance company see it as a modification and up the premium....

I have known insurers to get egineers reports on brake upgrades before now... all at the owners expense of course....

I have always found that improving the standard braking system works better and is not an insurance extra... things like braided hoses make a big difference. Only in the old days of sls drums did I ever do disc brake conversions etc...

...possibly not, if it's a dealer supplied part (which it probably is, being ProDrive).
