This is for any DJs out there

this thing looks so sweeeeet

SL-DZ1200 digital CD turntable, featuring full scratch facility via direct drive platter driven by the Technics SL1210 turntable motor, cue save, on-board sampling and looping, SD cue point save, auto cue load, vinyl simulation, cellphone connections for recieving mp3's from a remote source and more.

these look pretty cool. any idea how much they are?

i'm just about to get back into dj'ing after a 2 year break... i had 1210's but i sold em so i am going for some numark tt-x1's with a vestac pmc-05pro mk 2 scratch mixer (i'm a hip hop nut so i have to be able to scratch)

but one of these would be a perfect addition to the setup...

now i just have to sell my fileserver to my aunt for my cousins xmas pressie... its £200 over her budget though :-0

/me practises salesmanship

any idea how much they are?

I think £700-£800 would be a fair price to compete with the Pioneers & Denons - still a larrah money though

They're garbage, I'm selling both and buying Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK2's again. I sold myCDJ's on ebay thinking I was upgrading. Here are the problems. Search forums on the net and you will see these things repeated over and over.

1. The pitch lock, or "master tempo" on pioneers, is trash. you can't scratch or cue up the record manually with it on. It sounds like some weird digital monster if you try. If you pitch down too much it goes into an echo or double beat.

2. It takes easily 3 times as long to cue up a CD as the Pioneer.

3. It will not play at least 10& of burned CD's without major errors.

4. It is much too complicated to do simple things such as set the main cue point for your Cue/stop button.

5. The digital effects are garbage and not one is even remotely close to being useable. They sound digital AT BEST!!!

6. The platter is much too sensitive. If you give it the slightest nudge it will either completely stop or send the record flying forward.

I could keep going but suffice to say that if you buy these, you'll likely be sorry. Mine are history as soon as possible. They can't begin to compare to the pioneers. I'de rather have an old rack mountable system. At least most of them are reliable.

Technics should be ashamed to send out a product this flawed with such fanfare. They look great, nothing else. I will never purchase another Technics product again as long as I live after this experience. I have no respect for the company whatsoever.

Good work technics, you lost a customer for life.

yup i've heard bad things about them, my pal just opted for a new pioneer cdj1000 mk2 instead of one of these after hearing of all their faults.

i think its a matter of opinion but i'd also go so far as to say that my ttx-1 turntables are better than the technic's 1210's as well, and i used to have a set of 1210's mk2's so its not some half-assed comparison. i'm by no means a numark fanboy either as i think the rest of their range is crap :) but with the ttx-1 they got things right.

technics as a company hasnt innovated for nigh on 30 years, their 1200/1210's were amazing and still stand up to the test of time fine, but things have moved on a lot since then.

oh and the new QFO from vestax is one of the biggest turntable innovations ever! i want one :D

i've had the CD vs Vinyl discussion loads of times on other forums in the past and basically i have tried both and i think both have advantages and dis-advantages but i prefer vinyl, i currently have a Rane Serato on order (it's like final scratch but better) but thats the furthest i go in the world of digital DJ'ing, i just prefer the feel of vinyl and i feel like i have more control for some reason

the only cd turntable that really intrests me is the Numark CDX but i doubt i would ever buy one, i like my Vestax PDX's too much :)
