Which of the 2 types of fan mount Kustom sell is suitable for the Papst 80mm and 120mm fans also sold here?
And can they mount filters or grills aswell?

Your best bet is to e-mail Kustom sales, unless someone answers here first. :)

FM44 is usually the safest bet... you should be able to fit a grill on the inside of the fan, but the outside is going to be pushing it a bit.
(Outside being where it joins with the case)

I finally got around to fitting mine. I got them a fortnight ago.
They are no joke.
They work (at least for me)
All I can say to everyone is use them.
Or don't, it's up to you like you know:)

Got mine but don't think I can use them so cud be appearing in for sale soon.
Can't seem to get them to fit my Lian-Li case or the papst fans I want to use so sort of stuck. Anyone else run into problems with Lian-lis or papsts with these mounts?

I ordered the FM44's to use with 8412s in a PC-61, I can't get them to fit thru the case mount holes or the fan mount holes. Mayb I'm not being vicious enough.
If u want to try for yourself I have enough for 5 fans, u r welcome to the lot for £10 including postage, save u a few quid over new, I don't think they r going to help me much now anyway, my case and fans are heavily damped already.
Thomas (Kustom) and me had a little investigation into these things, and I say with all honesty, they are NOT easy to use.
Basically, I broke most of them, trying to fit them (and that was with any fan).
Neither of the sizes would work. In the end, Thomas said, 'Give it some force.. See what happens, I'll take it back if you brake them!'.
Guess what. I got one in, but the rest ripped in half, before they went into the fan hole. I never got anywhere near mounting them into the actual case -- There was no way I was able to do it.
They're a good idea, but if you're going to rip them in half, everytime you put them in a different fan -- They're not worth the hassle.

I had to drill the holes out slightly to be able to ge them in I must admit. I didn't want to drill too much for fear of them not fitting snugly once they's got past the fat bit. And if I ever need to remove the fan, I'm going to have to destroy them in the process.
Having said that, I can really hear the difference (at least in my case) and I think they're worth it if you aren't going to fiddle about with your fan
Try pulling them and wiggling them side to side more than you pull them through that's my advice. Also, buy a few more than you need. Better to have a spare isolator and not need it than to need a spare isolator and not have it.

thx guys.
btw, i just recieved a Zalman 400W PSU - its amazingly quiet, and case and CPU temps are much lower then a fanless PSU. i'd recommend them :D

anyone know of any alternatives that fit a PC61 and papst fans?
i'm thinking of trying some FM35's (smaller ones) but i dont want to drill the case.
i'd also ideally want black ones (for the top holes) but thats not really the issue..
any ideas?
If you have'nt already, try using swarfega to help the little buggers slide in, or second best fairy liquid.

thats a good plan..
i did find an alternative though, a decoupling gasket - self adhesive foam cut into the shape of the fans housing. think it'll work well? of course, you only get one shot with it - but they are cheap..
the gasket also ensures a good airtight seal between the fan and case, which IMO is a good thing. if it works well, ill recommend it to Kustom as part of their esoteric product range :D

Swarfega is abrasive, full of silicon particles that act as grit to clean your hands. Not a good idea on a nice LL or CM case. I tried vaseline and fairy liquid but still ended up breaking them before I could get them in my LL with PAPST fans:(

I'm not sure whether this helps or not, but I've fitted two blue coolermaster fans to the front of my Lian Li PC6100 case using the FM35's. The fans are totally snug fitting and don't move unless I really tug them.
Fans are running even quieter than before - and I didn't loose a single isolator when fitting them to the case and than to the fans.
My order for FM35 arrived today and after reading how difficult they are to install here and other forums I was worried I'd be sending them back. I ordered some extra ones too for any that broke.
The first one was difficult to install. Took about 5 mins trying to pull it through the hole which is how most people seem to be installing them.
While trying to pull the 2nd one through and getting nowhere I thought I'd try and push it through. A used a small flat screwdriver and pushed a little of the V-ring through first. The rest followed through easily. I then pushed the 2nd ring through the same way and that was even easier.
I did the same with the rest (12) of the isolator mounts and had them all fitted to the case in less than 10 mins. I didn't even need to use a thin nosed plier on the other end to pull them through, just used my fingers.
So for anyone who has been put off buying these because of the difficulty of fitting/breaking them, it's easy when you know how. I didn't break a single one. Just remember, don't pull, push them through.
Much cheaper than replacing all the fans and probably better results too, depends on your old fans ;). I've got 80mm Panaflos as my front intakes and when running at 3/4 speeds they would get too loud for me. Now I can run them at full speed and they are as loud as 1/2 speed before.
It's amazing how much vibration noise even quiet fans cause.
