View Full Version : Digital Cameras, recommendations please!
Can anybody recommend a decent digital camera for a reasonable price, preferably 3MP.
On the list so far are the Pentax Optio S or the Canon Ixus V3, but if somebody knows of a better one please let me know!

You might wanna have a looksee at the Which? Camera (http://www.whichcamera.co.uk/index.cfm) website, +/or Digital Camera Magazine (http://www.digitalcameramagazine.co.uk/default.asp?sp=&v=1), +/or Digital Photography Now (http://www.dp-now.co.uk/index.html), +/or this one (http://www.cameras.co.uk/) for good reviews/advice/recommendations ;)
Once you've decided which one you'd like, this (http://www.everyprice.com/cgi-bin/search/hyperseek.cgi?search=CAT&Category=Consumer%20Electronics%3ADigital%20Camera s&Qualifier=) should help you find where to get it ;)
Assuming you're buying online tho', you could do worse than buy it from Internet Cameras Direct (http://www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk/). Great range, and competitive prices - such that I bought my Kodak EasyShare DX3900 (http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00005OWAT.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg) and accessories from them a couple of years ago. It's a great little camera, with plenty of accessories available for it (including a zoom lens kit)...
Therre are plenty of other places from which to buy digital cameras online of course... e.g. Buy a Camera (http://www.buyacamera.co.uk/), Ace Cameras (http://www.acecameras.co.uk/), The Digital Camera Company (http://www.digital-cameras.com/shop/showpage.asp?id=1), Ritz Camera (http://www.ritzcamera.org.uk/), Camera Shop (http://www.mobileshop.com/cameras/index.php?hdrHeaderID=5), PixMania (http://uk.pixmania.com/dev/gui_web/shopping/index.php?fuseaction=searchS&cat=1&PHPSESSID=5c6dc3167d53020cc940cea223704f95) etc etc.
Happy hunting, and remember to let us know what you decide on :D

Ok, If you haven't already bought the camera check out the following link:
Canon Powershot A300 3.2MP (http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/productdetails/CNN-PSA300.htm)
Superb bit of kit, bought one myself with a 128Mb and have taken several quality photos. If you're interested I can mail some samples to you.
