Hi,

I just got me a wavemaster coolermaster case, and if i may say they look sweet :D

i was wondering whats the best way to silence it this is what im thinking of getting, will this make a big difference?

cpu fan £32.99 (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=2607&PHPSESSID=9e856bb00aec3eabc64ece12fdd240e5)
Silent drive £26 (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=3807)
Silent psu (probly go for the cheapest one £45) (http://www.quietpc.com/uk/psu.php)

total cost = £103.99

is there a better or more cot effective way? I know of some sites that have some of the items cheaper but now one site has all the components so depends on the delivery charge.

thx

I would try 7 volting all your fans first and see if this is enough for you. Its free to do if you have the spare odds and ends.

Do a google search for 7 volt fan mod for more info.

If thats not enough try finding out what item is causing the most noise by eliminating the others in turn that way you will put the money where its most needed :)

I would ditch the silent drive at the moment and add that to your PSU budget and get a Zalman 300w silent PSU £65 at Kustom.

A Barricuda Drive is very quiet on its own, wothout need of silent drives, which, as Largo says, can make a 7,200rpm drive run a little hot.

*** Gordy or Graeme or super mod, could you move this thread to Silent PCs as Steve may get more suggestions from us Silent PC peeps. ***

Bear in mind the new Nexus NX3000 PSU. These are damn good !!! And not too expensive either.

u could buy a cheap psu and then buy some quiet fans and just swap the fans over it would be cheaper.
