I really have this thing for the Lexus IS200 - since I first saw that car I knew one day I had to have one, and after driving behind one earlier, I just couldn't help but look around the net for more info on them...
Saw this http://www.turbofast.com.au/lexus.html
These guys have a Lexus IS pushing 450bhp ...
I *really* want one of these :D
(Wayne's World...)
Oh yes, she will be mine...

I adore the IS200, theres a couple round here by me...that one is just sex on wheels...

Lexus are Toyota in a sense - in the same way a Jaguar is a posh ford.
Toyota own the Lexus brand...

Oops !
That's the trouble with forums, it's not always possible to pick up what people are implying :)

It's not your fault Graeme, it's mine. I should have put a smiley on the end of my sentence!

OMG - I have fallen in love with a car (again).
The new Ford Mustang has just pushed the used 911 off my wishlist for replacement car.
Have you all seen this beauty?
4.6L super-charged V8, 300bhp, rwd...
And the price - $30000 (USD). Factor in import costs, taxes and SVA work (along with a few things off the options list) and that's probably around £30000 for this iconic car - NEW!
Left-hand drive only, but I think I could live with that.
I just have to have one.

Ooops - I just realised I hijacked a thread here. Sorry about that, I have already slapped my wrist.
Trouble with BMWs is they have no style, every man with a chest wig and his dog owns one. They're for people who feel the need to have their ego stroked.
Now the Lexus is quiet, stylish and doesn't shout for attention.Big fan of the IS200, I will still watch them go and admire the sleek muscular lines.
Other good recent cars in the same category are;
Saab 9-3 Aero
Honda Accord (new), there are whispers of a Type-R
The key word here is Q, Q cars do not need to shout their presence they command respect simply by being on the road.

That's the other motor I really like just now. I'll probably be changing car at the end of the year, and maybe by then the price of them might be down a little bit - no way I could afford a new one just now :)

actually, who am I kidding, I don't think I could even afford a 4 year old Lexus , but it's always nice to have ambitions :)
I've got a picture of an IS200 on the wall next to my desk at work.
Kind of an inspiration I suppose !
Certainly something to look forward too. I think I'd rather have the Saab than the Lexus though. Call me weird - but Turbochargers (as a lot of Saabs have) just make me go weak at the knees...
And that Alfa you've got now. Those engines make a lovely noise! :D
Hi all, if you like the Lexus IS, you would be interested in the lexus owners club, they have got some nice modded cars there.
They can be found at www.lexusownersclub.co.uk
I've got myself an IS 300 with the styling kit fitted, and i can tell you they drive as good as they look, recommend them to anybody!

Heh, I've already been there a couple of times for a look around the gallery - can't make myself a regular though as I'll just end up spending money that I don't yet have ;)
Do you have a direct link to a pic of your car, Jim?
Yes Graeme i have, heres the links.....

Be warned the're large pics if you have a 56k connection.
The car is a 3 ltr straight six, auto with "steptronic" gear change using buttons on the steering wheel.
Get a motor bike, some thing like a gixxer 1000. )-160 in 18 secs can't be bad for 5 grand!

Heh, I just know I'm never going to grow tired of that looking at that chronograph instrument layout - it's just soooooo cool . :)
Very nice car, Jim - thanks for sharing it !
I'll make sure to head over to register on the club forums 'nearer the time' .
Slunker - I know where you're coming from with bikes, performance to price they're unbeatable, but I need to be able to carry stuff (big stuff) and sometimes people too, so really need something four wheeled and with multiple seats ;) Besides, I'd probably end up killing myself with a fast bike ...
