I have a Celeron 1.7 cooled by a SilentMax cooler from Kustom. I've connected a Zalman fan mate to the 80mm papst fan. What max. temperature will the Celeron be safe with, (ie. just how far can I turn the Fan Mate down) currently without the Fan Mate the CPU temp is 30 at idle and 45 at load.

I would say that is safe, not sure on celeron chips exactly but i'd say your safe up till about 60ish (full load)

60ish (full load) Id only be worried if you hit the 70s to be honest.

celerons run pretty cool, and it doesnt take much to cool them. if its less than 50 degrees then youre fine.

Thanks for the help.
I've adjusted all the fan speeds so now the CPU at load is around 50 to 55. The whole system is now quieter than my old Mini-ITX system and performs a whole lot better.
