My Nokia 7650 just died a watery death so am looking at getting a new phone. Was wondering if anyone had tried an Orange SPV e100 and whether they were any good.
They are ok but the menu system is shocking , personally I wouldnt get one , until not the next updated version is released but until the blootooth version arrives :)
Erriccson T610 is king of phones at the mo :)

I didn't really like the look of the ericsson, also one of my friends had a T68i and it was plasticy and didn't feel too well made. Also the screen was shocking. What is the screen like on the T610, I have just come from a 7650 which has a brilliant screen so am quite fussy!
The T610 does look very tasty, I had an Ericsson years ago (T28) but I felt the menus were a little laggy, dont know what they're like now.
I use an 8310 now and will do for a long time until something really grabs my attention - a lot of the new phones just arent amazingly jumping out at me.
I got to play with a T610 in a shop for ages, I want one, :p

The Sagem myX-6 is also a possibility, anyone played with one of them?

Just had a look at a friends and the camera is shocking, the picture quality is nowhere near that of my 7650. I know the Sagem is supposed to have a good camera but don't know anyone who has one to check!

I've got the Sagem myX-5 and it's a damn fine phone - calls are clear, it stores plenty of texts/contacts, has a great screen and amazing ring tones ( the mooing cow has become my trademark, really stands out :) )
I'm very happy with it.
It's pretty compact, and build seems fine - I've dropped it many times and the only flaw is a scratch on the screen, so it seems robust enough !
Oh, and best of all - if you actually care about the image of a phone, it's quite nice to have something a bit different... everyone I know has a Nokia !
I own an SPV, and unless you've actually used one, you will never know that this is the king of mobiles atm. Read any mags and its rated at the very top.
Menu system is not 'shocking', it use the WindowsCE OS, same as the somes you see in Ipaq. The whole thing can be connected to your PC and used as a PDA. Access the phone is so simple via the PC, its listed in My Computer and you access it like another drive. The user interface on the screen is completely customizable, as it is written in XML.
Additional SD memory cards can be purchased and used to store your files. The SPV has Windows Media Player built in, so it can play your MP3s AND any music video you care to bang on.
As it uses GPRS, the SPV also has MSN Messenger, and it fully works!
The only downside to this phone is the camera is crap.
Now tell me, how many phones out there can let you play Doom on it, huh?
I got a Orange SPV best phone I ever owned! Now how many phones would have MSN messenger :p. It was buggy and slow to start with but a software update made my phone quicker and less buggy :). It's also versatile too, play Doom and install a wide range apps and games. :)
I have the SonyEricsson T610 and damn what a nice piece of kit. After I did my first custom theme for it yesterday it did only get better.
The screen is good, can't complain with 16-bit colour compared to 8-bit on the T68. Dedicated buttons for camera and WAP browser is quite handy as well, especially if you see something nice and don't want to fiddle with menus just to take a photo...

I play doom on my 7650 all the time.
If i get the T610 can i connect to my PDA with bluetooth and dial my isp for connection on the go... this works fine for my S55 but that is getting rather dated.
I assume it will be pretty much the same.
Use GPRS, much faster always on connection. You only pay for the data you transfer, this differs between networks but vodafone seems to offer the best deals at the moment.
I pay an extra £3 per month with my Orange contract and I have unlimited GPRS download.

In the end I have gone for the Sharp GX-10i since I read too many reviews saying the SPV was a bit buggy and prone to crashing.
