Just seen a website called
PA.M. (http://www.policyanalysismarket.org/)

What is PAM (Policy Analysis Market)?

Basicaly it's a share's trading service which you can buy or sell shares regarding the cutternt tensions and political situations of Middle East Contries!! it's the "Brain child" of the US Gov's DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency)

Yup!! in effect you can buy shares in the fact that a major middle east Leader will be assainated, or that a terrorist attack on a Oil pipeline will happen. or that there will be an invasion or attack by a neighbouring contry. They are trying to esee if Market forces can predict Political changes or events better than other kinds of intelegence gathering tecniques!

This is not a game! people will be trading with their own $$$'s in this market!!

you guy's heard about other DARPA ides? the intelegent Minefield which can move by itself! was their latest Idea!!

Initially, PAM will focus on the economic, civil, and military futures of Egypt, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Turkey and the impact of U.S. involvement with each.

This kinda makes a bit sick that people will be routing for America to attack a middle eastern country just because they have shares in it  or weather IRAQ will ever be able to sustain themselves again.

At first i thought it was a "tounge in cheek" sort of site! but i just seen it reviewed on Fox News about 40 mins ago!!

But acording the DARPA the best way to predict the future is to watch market forces aparently!

This is not as foolish or cynical as it seems. Before 9/11 there was unrest in the money markets because of rumours and unexplainable business decisions to move money. Subsequent analysis has shown some parties did have prior knowledge of an event that would degrade the value of investments. The next logical step is to use these trends as an indicator of possible incidents. A sudden movement of money away from Lloyds of London could indicate an attack on shipping for instance, or a very large order for fuel drums might indicate a country's intention to go to war. Remember the financiers of terrorists have to keep their cash somewhere and they will not allow their ability to wage their campaigns to be degraded by losing these funds to the consequences of their own actions...

The fact that this is now closing is no surprise as the purpose of the site needs to be a secret to work effectively.

Thanx Cable Monkey for that insight, it makes sense to know where the terrorists dont want their money to be

But it appears from news it's been abandoned any way so ....

Yeah the idea was reported as being dropped yesterday which was when it pretty much came to light. I can't believe people are paid to think these things up. Complete and utter idiots basically encouraging organised Terrosim.
