I posted it in another thread, but I thought everyone may like a look at it.

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/hotline/20030712/etc_tnn500a.html

The page is unreadable, but the clickable pictures give you the general idea. Apparently it can handle 3GHz+ P4's and GeForce FX's without a problem, and remains completely silent (if you use a fanless PSU, low noise hard drives, and have good ventilation in your room.. I guess).

Looks very promising. :)

Indeed, it does look nice.

Trouble is, I'm typing this in my study in our loft conversion and I'm wilting!!!

Only way I could keep a totally fanless system cool would be to have an air con unit or domestic fan blowing across the rear radiator of this case. Would kind of defeat the object!!

But in a nice cool area, this thing would be ideal!

Thats similar to the hush system. Won't post links as they're on comp website. But hush are really cool little systems, the case is a sink, and all components only have sinks, totally fanless.

If you fancy something similar to the Hush system, how's about this offering from Kustom (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=1434&PHPSESSID=0646877c94598640dc69a209248c9dcd)

I want a silent PC for my non-gaming needs. When I've got the cash spare, I'm buying it!

(First there's the small matter of a iiyama 4821 - I'll be talking to you Graeme!)

That will do the trick, and they're cheaper than Hush system too! :)

Cool and small but you can't fit a pci graphics card in there! (perhaps an G450 PCI - hmmm)

The lates EPIA based mini-itx systems have hardware mpeg2 decoders for dvd playback but if you want good tv-out you'd probably want to add a PCI graphics cards.

If the on-board s-video is good enought then one mighty combo is a mini-itx based system + something like a PVR 250 Tuner with hardware mpeg2 encoding. Hey presto - instant home theather client / personal video recorder.
