Do any of these exist? Or is there someway of adding a silencer to the damned things?
Having read through this silent section of the boards over the past few months, I've decided to try to drag some noise outta my pc.
I've recently bought a Barracuda IV, Zalman 7000CU and a Zalman 400w, in order to get some silence involved. I also got 2 ThermalTake and 2 Coolermaster case fans.
Now I am looking for Black/Silver DVD/CD Drives to go with me system

The Pioneer 106S Slot DVD drive has a patch you can download which enables you to run it in 'Stealth' mode.
Effectively this limits the unit to the speed required to play a video DVD and prevents it whizzing around at up to 16x speed.
Search for it on Google. I know I had it a while back and I think Thomas tracked it down at some point too.
It works!

Oooh, that was easy.
They've updated it too.

Sounds like a plan, of course being the typically lazy guy that I am the 106 is a cool choice cuz they stock the black bezels here...
Cheers Big Adam

Nice 1, that looks like it will work on the 120S as well, might end up getting that drive instead, but I'm gunna have to 'Do-It-My-Damn-Self' as far as painting it goes! :)

Be very careful if you decide to try it on a 120S Jez!!
According to the info provided on the website... "Note: works with Pioneer 6 series models only"!
Just thought I'd emphasise that point... it's your choice/decision of course :D

Creepy,
Think it's been updated m8. Pioneer website lists the 120S specifically as being supported.
Sharky,
Sorry dude. Just look upon yourself as an unsung hero. :D

I wouldn't sweat it Blackstar.... you'll undoubtedly receive a confirmation email shortly - if not tonight, then pro'ly tomorrow ;)
Remember... Saturday is undoubtedly their busiest day of the week for orders, so it may take some time to respond to/confirm every single order placed today.
If you ain't heard from the Kustom boys by... say tomorrow tea-time, send an email to sales@kustompcs.co.uk. Remember to include your order number to help em check the order status ;)
And no need to contact WorldPay :)
