View Full Version : XP2500 cooler
Hello guys,
Looking for a suitably quiet cooler for my XP2500+. Am looking for basic overclocking abilities but the one I have right now, a CM XDream, is a little bit too loud. Any suggestions? The quieter the better!
Cheers,
Welly

I have a Zalman on my 2500. silent, and excellent temps - most its ever got to is 48ºC on a very hot day with CPU at 100% for about 3 hours of UT :)

I have an SLK 800 on my 2400 runing at 2.2GHz and it keeps it at about 35-39C in the current hot weather

I did have but it seems to make no difference so I have taken it off again.
You have it passively cooled????????

Yup. I am not sure if I had just fitted the fan incorrectly but I had an 80mm fan on top and whether it was at full speen, low speed or off it only seemed to make about 0.5 to 1C difference so I thought sod it and took it off!
You must have a fan near by surely!!!!!!!!

I have case fans yeah, 2 intake at the back, 2 exhaust at the front, 1 mounted on a Zalmann bracket and 1 in the side

You've got em the wrong way round Double Tap... you mean intakes at the front, and exhausts at the rear I hope  :D

Surely it doesn't matter as long as you have air flowing through the case!

Yeah I don't see much problem with airflow going that way other than the PSU messing up the whole airflow.

Why would the PSU screw it up?

Because the PSU exchausts.

Hey... no worries. If you're happy with it that way, that's all that matters ;)
I'd suggest however, that 99% of us have it the other way around :)
