I'm interested in buying one of these things but I'm too scared to start fiddling with my £120 GF4 TI4200! Are these things easy to put on?

NO! They're evil! Took me about an hour to get mine on, and I still havent had time to test the card, so that probaby won't work now...

Nooooo, you're scaring me even more! I want a silent PC but the blasted graphics card is too noisey!

Graham might fit it for you if you send your card to him. ;)

Well I can't do that, I'd have no computer to use while he had the card!

Doesn't your mobo have onboard graphics? Surely you could survive on that for a few days.

I have just fitted one of these to my Gainward TI4600 750XP. Its a pretty simple process - just take your time over it.

Initially it did look a bit fiddly so I dry assembled mine first ( don't use any thermal paste - just the nuts and bolts ) this helps you get an understanding of how it fits together without making a mess.

Once i was happy i disassembled it and rebuilt the whole thing properly using the thermal paste.

I did see a post in this forum from someone who trashed their card after fitting one of these so make sure you respect the electronics and don't place ya' grubby lil' mits all over the components.

I guess its down to your confidence.

No, my motherboard doesn't have onboard graphics... I would quite like to do it but I always end up in a situation where I have to pay lots of money to replace something that had I left alone, would have worked alright!

Well, if Graham breaks it he'll buy you a Radeon 9800 Pro :D

No problems fitting it to an Asus V8460 Ti4600 - it took about an hour. Just take your time and don't rush it. Temps are about 5c lower than with the original heatsink/fan, and of course there is a complete lack of noise... :)
