A few weeks ago i emailed Graeme about sliencing my XP2700 CPU cooler/Fan ( GlobalWin FSP82 CPU Cooler ). He recommended the AeroCool Deep Impact DP101 or Zalman 6000Cu.

I'm not sure which one to go for, lots of people seem to have the Zalman. Does anyone have the AeroCool ? or both? Which would be the best choice?

Thanks

That's a hard one. I don't know enough about the aerocool but the Zalman 6000 has been about for ages. I believe that hardened overclockers don't use the Zalman Flower but if silence is what you want, the Zalman is undoubtedly the one to go for.

And it's flash as anything in the looks department!

Alan you seem to be turning into my personal technical guru - which, reading your posts, is no bad thing :)

Graeme has also thrown this into the mix...

A SLK-900 (Sounds like a Merc) with a Papst fan on top running at 19 dBA - thats 1dBA quieter than the Zalman from what i've read. But costs £15 more.

Decisions decisions...

Can't comment on it's cooling ability but don't read too much into the dba rating.

Your ears will not be able to distinguish a 1dbA difference (assuming the quoted figures are accurate)

Opted for the Zalman in the end. Seems the most cost effective solution.
