I'm curious about what difference replacing these will have on my PC's case noise. I have the front 2 running on 7V and the rear on 12v ( helps keep the Zalman GPU Heatsink cooler )

Would i hear any noise reduction if i replaced these for Papst fans? or are the coolermaster ones just as good.

The Papst silent fans (as sold by Kustom) would be quieter than your CM fans at 7 volts. I don't know if they would be sufficently quieter than 7 volted fans to justify the expense.

This is mainly because I've never heard 7 volt fans but I do know that if you use a potentiometer or fan mate to slow a fan down, sometimes there are certain levels where the fan gets a litlle more noisy because it's not running efficiently.

I have Papst silent fans on my rear exhaust and top blow hole but the blow hole Papst is turned off because it started making a low speed hum which I couldn't get rid of. The rear exhaust continues quiet as ever.

You'd just have to suck it and see.

Thanks for the advice. I use the 12v - 5v = 7v PD wiring trick to slow my fans down.
