I'm planning to buy an Antec Sonata case to replace my existing 'Purple Button' case, primarily to reduce noise, and also because they just look cool :)

I want to get a manual fan controller to run my Zalman CPU fan, internal cooling fan and probably the 120mm exhaust fan on the Sonata also. (I know that it is possible to use the special 'Fan Only' connectors in this case, but would like more control). I would like if possible to use a controller that sits in a 5.25" or 3.5" bay, rather than a PCI blanking plate, for ease of use.

The problem is that the Sonata has a door over the front of the drives, and so I'm not sure which controllers will fit in ok. Does anyone currently have a Sonata with a fan controller fitted? Alternatively, does anyone know what the clearance between the drive panels and the door is? I can't find detailed measurements on Antec's site.

Thanks in advance :D

I had the same problem with my ATCS-710 as there is about 5mm clearance between the door and the case which does not leave any room to put anything. What I did was take of the door as the case still looks cool without it. But I have not seen your case up close so cannot comment on that. Does it still use the drive rails? A idea would be to set a fan controller back a bit then you could buy anyone you wanted?

If there is anyway for you to measure the clearance between the door and the case that would help me.

there was an article a while ago (on bit-tech maybe?) that detailed how to move the knobs on a vantec baybus (i think) inward a bit so it fittted behind a door, andone remember where it was exactly?
