Anybody reccomend a nice and quiet 60mm case fan to replace th jet engine in the back of the SV24 I'm doing up for my mum?

Most of them only seem to come in 80mm+ versions...

Or is the papst kustom sell the only real option there?

Correct. Either the Papst, or buy another 60mm fan that has a sensor or a means of slowing it down - which will simply cost you more complication to get what the Papst already gives you.

Yes. Naturally. It would be the out-of-stock one ...

Graeme! Hurry up and get the buggers bac in stock! :p

Assuming the current one is a 12v volt you could always mod it to run a 7v, less noise but also less cooling.

the vantec stealth is another option. same size as the papst, same airflow, bit noisier but a bit cheaper.

A very good point.

*purchases vantec to tide him over*

Now, if the papst comes into stock tomorrow, I shall be somewhat annoyed ;)

kidnoodle, if it's any consolation we won't have the papst 60mm for a little while :)

Most places seem to be out of stock for 60mm Papsts - and Panaflo units are a pain to find too. I've ordered a couple of Vantec Stealth fans to see if they're any good...

Dorothy Bradbury (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dorothy.bradbury/panaflo.htm) does most sizes of silent fans and has very good prompt service - you can choose between 3-pin fan and 4-pin molex connectors which is nice. I mean... um... she's *almost* as good as Kustom i mean.... certainly not better! nobody can be better!
