My broadband isp is NTL and I understand that I get a website with it. If I create a website then how do I upload it onto the internet?
I've never used NTL for web hosting, but afaik you need to use your own FTP Client. Smart FTP is a great free one - http://www.smartftp.com/
Once you got that installed and working, you need to check out your NTL documentation to find out the FTP information, such as the server, username and password (chances are the last two will be the same as your email info.)
If you can't find it, check on the website, or ask a forum member who has used it in the past (I believe Kynoch and PJ both use NTL for webhosting)
Okay, found this on the NTL website
webspace - ftp details
Customer homepage URL format: homepage.ntlworld.com/user.name
FTP Server: upload.ntlworld.com
User Name = your username
Password = your password
Hope it helps! :D

How do you upload stuff? I tried to get on upload.ntlworld.com but it doesn't load.
Hmm, did it say what the error was? Make sure you got your log in information correct. It might just be the NTL FTP server is down. :\
ftp://username:password@upload.ntlworld.com:21
Where your username is the first part of your email address (the bit before the @) and your password is....your password...
Should work. Just copy that url above, paste it into a ftp proggie, and then change the username and password bits to suit the instructions above, and ur off...hopefully :D

There are a few options on how to upload to your own webspace as well as how to reset the password too. Click the link below and on the main screen click the NTL link.

Hope this helps someone.

Smart FTP is a great free one - http://www.smartftp.com/
Smart FTP is good... but it certainly ain't free (https://www.plimus.com/jsp/buynow.jsp?contractId=1634179)
CoffeeCup Free FTP (http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/) on the other hand, is free
Old... maybe... but FREE nonetheless :D

It is for
"Personal
Educational
Non-Profit Organization" usage
Seeing as Mattooooo asked the question over 2½ years ago I would hope he'd already found the answer :D

That's the last time I have a Glenfiddich at dinner time
I blame Jackie for resurrecting such an old thread in the first place
Heaven forbid I accept the full blame myself, right :D
