yteah it was a good film
anough action throughout
and i liked how we got to see a lot of other mutants through the school
it is kewl how they seem to be doing the jean grey/ pheonix thing in a way that is kind of similar to the cartoon/comic
will just have to wait till the next film (hopefully) to see where they take it next

Just got back from seeing it!!! AMAZING!!!
Yes better than the original.
I am however wondering how many they will do, my feeling is that they have enough characters and storylines to fill 5 movies at least, but it could go on . No a complaint though. :D

just back from seeing this myself, never saw the first one but enjoyed this ! Some really neat effects, and lets face it - who ever gets tired of fight scenes :)
I've just got back myself and oh yes it was great!! The fight scenes were fantastic, i especially liked the one with wolverine and the ademantium woman altho i did feel sorry for her in the end. Roll on X3!! :)
BTW. This is probably just me but did any of you think the way the last scene was done was kind of like the end of Star Trek 2?

The Adamantium woman was Lady Deathstrike and its a shame they had to make u think she was dead, but...
i dont think she is..
she has the exact same make up as Wolverine, super fast healing and adamantium.. but hers is not graphted to her bones it seemed to be always visible in her nails sticking out.. and all the images of her in the comics ad her crying adamantium tears..so my opinion is that the adamantium will be kept hot inside the body and that she will heal herslef just like Wolverine when shot in head :D

Hey,
Saw the film last night and thought it was soooo cool, way better than the first. I couldn't stop grinning at the end (ooh, Pheonix!)

Thx for clearing that up mate! The thing is I don't understand how she's alive cos ademantium needs to be kept hot to stay liquid otherwise it sets permenantly. How would it stay liquid inside her? BTW This may turn into a major geekout thread! ;)

Personally, i think she is dead, cause you heard the noise of the solid metal as she dropped to the bottom of the water tank.
And yes, i think this has the potential of turning into a geek fest!

Unless they can cutr the metal out of her, then in theory she would heal, but short of their head coming away from their head, you tend to think that these guys can't die(nothing to do with highlander).
Can I just ask someone to clarify the Jean evolution thing??? It would make me soooo happy if she's not dead, cos her and cyclopse are the only stable romance in the film.
Now if I may just say, I LOVED THAT FILM, yes better than the first, but didn't take anything away from it, you know the characters, but they didn't cover old ground like MIB2, that was all just the same jokes, only you knew them already.
They certainly do have a LOT of characters, but it works, and i think they could continue them in a similar fashion to the supermen films. You'll see the kids graduating to Xmen and helping join in the fights.
Last but not least, am I the only person on the planet who didn't recognise Halle Berry? OMG what a transformation, I really didn't know it was her!

nah she wont be dead
it fits in with the comic book/cartoon
in that she used her powers to fly a ship while protecting herself from radiation (the rest of the xmen were behind radiation shielding and couldnt fly the ship)
the ship crashed into water
jean arose from it alive - but stronger powers and looking different
later she turns evil (dark pheonix)
then sometime after that we find out that it wasnt jean but a clone of her
pheonix was a cosmic being that through it was jean
but jean was in a cacoon at the bottom of the water
in the last moments before she died, jean had cried out for help and this cosmic being stepped in
however it would be hard to do it that way in the film as they are not in space - hehe
another thing to notice was at the very end when the camera was flyign over the water, we saw a glow movign throguh the water that could possible be symbolic of the pheonix rising
plus looking back over the film
at points where Jean really neeed to use her powere - we see fire in her eyes - signs of pheonix possessing her
then jsut before the water covered her, she looked as if she was on fire - again sign of pheonix rising from the ashes

i'm pretty sure she to has it laced to her bones like wolverine
its not just her fingers. so i think he probably is head as by the looks of it her insides were justed filled with adamantium so its unlikely that that will be healed
although in the comics, she was actually a cyborg - so my thorughts could be totally wrong
god what a rant

Go ling, film critic and Xmen analist! Nice one, but bad if jeans going to be a bad guy... 8(
Halle Berry anyone, am I truely along in not recognising her?

My thought is that deathstrike has adamantium running throughout her, but because of the cracking of knuckles would suggest that it was just her fingers...
Reasoning: The adamantium would weigh a bit, and if the rest of her body was normal bone, then it wouldnt be able to hold up her fingers... thus disjointed and such, thus finger cracking...
Just my 2p tho :D

here's one for you.
If she's got those spikes coming out of her finger nails, and the metal is indestructable, and yet what comes out her nails is straight, how the hell does she bend her fingers at all.
I know it's just a film, but something else that's left unanswered is wouldn't they notice that the senator was missing??? cos that had to be the course of a few days that he wouldn't have been there?
danielctull

I have wondered about those nails... no solutions though :(
Im sure the "senator" could have said he's going to hawaii or something...

Hey
If you look closely when Deathstrike's nails are coming out, it looks as if they are in sections (although I could be wrong) this could maybe explain how she can move her fingers.

scott how many times you been to see the film that you would have looked closley at it ? 8)

Theres a picture/desktop background of her. I shows clearly it is coming out in sections and goes into the thumb... Friend has it, but if you go to the x-men movie site (http://x2-movie.com/) and go to into's and look at lady deathstrikes intro. They come out like telescopic aerial ;) :D

Also, why didn't Bobby stop the water by turning it to ice?
I know it's all in the plot etc etc but c'mon!!
Thomas @ Kustom
09-05-2003, 09:34
actually when I was watching it, that was what i thought would happen, the only thing is, how much can he really do, we've seen him make a wall of ice in a corridor, and also seen him turn a cup of tea into ice tea, but could he actually do that.
Why didn't storm make such a cold and powerful wind as to hold it back. We've seen her in the first film lift logan up using the wind(granted stabalized by jean). and did anyone know that was Halle Berry?

should folks put SPOILER on thier posts incase they spoil the film for people.
if you hadnt seen x men and read this you would know the most important parts of the film
anyways a good film but what superhero film would u like to see
my suggestion--bluntman and chronic
eXistenZ

Surely tho if you see a thread with a film title, its fairly obvious its gonna have a few posts about what goes on, so if you don't wanna spoil it, don't read the thread ;)
Bluntman and chronic would be amusing!! but more of a comedy than a superhero film....
How about Dangermouse :D
Thomas @ Kustom
