well its my mo's car, and earlier on i decided to have a carwash as there was loads of grit on the windscreen and the wipers weren't clearing it..
well i forgot about the blimmin airiel and broke the bugger off.
Well i unscrewed it to try and pull it out but instead it just dropped down inside the car somewhere and i havent been able to retrieve it.

So can anybody recomend any web pages that may show diagrames on how to replace the airiel on a golf (not gti) as all my searched come back with damn golf corses and aireil views of golfcorses.
Well u may have guessed it i really dont care much about cars, but its *-ing annoying when the obvious way doesnt seem to work. theres some kind of cavity that the aireil had fallen into and i dont fancy taking the side panel off just to get to it.

so out to the wise car peps out there... htf can i sort this out, and or how much ssould a garage charge to sort this out?!?

Go into a car shop like Halfords for example and there are shelves full of car manuals for most the cars out there. Golfs are definately among them. I can't remember the name of the car manuals atm but when i remember ill post. I highly recommend them as they helped me restore a 20 year old Fiesta.

Just came to me, Haynes. There's even a website: http://www.haynes.co.uk

i have a polo which is similar to a golf and with mine what you do is, take the passenger front wheel off so you can get access. there are a series of small bolts that hold a plastic cover against the inside of the wing. if you take them out and remove the plastic you will have access in behind the wing. the bit you dropped will probably just fall out. replacing the ariel is as simple as pushing it up through the hole and screwing it in place. put the plastic cover back along with the bolts. put wheel back on before driving :)
