I have tried this with limited success.

I use PIII 866, 512RAM, 18gig SCSI H/D. Radeon (7200) 64Mb DDR VIVO capture card. Sharp Viewcam.

I tried Ulead Videosuite 4 and it was terrible, then tried ver. 5 lots better but still mince.

I recently got Pinnacle Studio 7 and it's very easy to use almost...it captures no problem, edits no problem but when I try to make a movie it hangs after approx. 10mins. I contacted Pinnacle and they suggested upgrade patch, didn’t help. When I check their tech forum I found lots of people with the same problem. Looks like it might be my system is not up to the job...processor goes from 35c to 49c when it starts rendering!

I am now considering upgrading my system and going to Studio 8 which has a recent patch to "stops hangs while rendering".

Good luck

Useful site on capture cards and most importantly which type you will require is here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/capture). Scroll down to the bottom "What capture card should I get?".

i had this problem with pinnacle 8
seems to hang for no reason when rendering
i think it was something to do with creating a 4 gig file or larger.
still hangs sometimes, but not as much as it did b4
also changed my mobo as well, dunno if that made a difference, and increased the ram.
