Could it be possible to passively cool an XP t'bred?

I'm not after raw power so I'm not bothered about a really powerful chip. In fact anything around 1 gig would be fine. I could go down the via C3 route but I'm not too sure. Does anyone have any suggestions on what CPU to use and the best ways of keeping the CPU cool enough to use just a heatsink or at least a low RPM fan? I would imagine alot of people reading this are running virtually silent pcs so any ideas would be nice to hear.

what CPUs do you lot use?

confusing.

1. is it possible to cool a tbred passively - doubt it.

2. if youre not after a powerful chip, then a c3 or a 1.3 duron clocked down to 1ghz would be ure best bet.

but theres absolutely no point buying a tbred and underclocking it, purely in monetary terms.

a 1.3duron uced to 1ghz wouldnt require as much power, so u could drop the vcore voltage down a bit to make the chip run cooler

sorry, what I mean is that I was thinking about an XP but basically anything in the 1gig range would be fine for what I need. I actually have a duron 1.3 here in a K7s5a board but if I do underclock I think I'll need to flash my bios.

Do motherboards allow you to change the CPU multipler or do I have to adjust the bridges on the CPU itself.
