One of my friends has asked me to build a PC for one of his mums friends who knows absolutely nothing about PCs and have given him £600 to build a PC that as they put it "can do the Internet thing".

Using cheap parts and stuff we have lying about we can build the PC for £470 including everything leaving us with £130 profit.

Now the problem is that I feel my friend is ripping them off as he is trying to do it as cheaply as he can rather than use quality parts so he can make as much money out of it even tho it will be me that has to order all the parts and do all the work and he just has to take them the PC.:(

Now the problem i have is what do I do.

Do I

1. Build the pc and get some extra cash but feel guilty about ripping them off. (Damn Conscience:))

Or

2. Tell my friend to build the PC himself and leave me out of it and refuse to help him with any problems he might have with it including future problems and see how he copes and hope that he learns from it.

Tell him you'll only do it if you use quality parts and if there are profits you want some of them, only fair right? But don't let him make you feel guilty, that's not fair.

how about telling hium you can do it for £530, make a decent profit and still be seen as a nice man

but if they just want to do the internet thing, and nothing else, you can get a machine good enough for a couple of hundred, less if you go 2nd hand.
i have a couple here that cost less than £300 inc monitor, with over 1ghz cpu, 256 meg ram, 40 gig hard drive and gf2 mx gfx

K

I have spoken to him at lunch and have managed to sort something out between us but for some reason he just dosnt understand why buying a good looking case from kustom is worth it as i want to buy the Elle-XP case as it would go well with the Monitor, keyboard and mouse that they are getting but it looks like I might just have to settle with the ATX silver midi tower.

Pfftt £70 to much for a case

I dont know these people just dont understand the joy of owning a goodlooking case :)
