Getting Worse by the day. Cant find any servers that don't have at least one cheat in them. Why so many people feel the need to wreck this game I will never know

I went off CounterStrike in a big way latley. Combination of lame ass people, cheats and people who would only join a winning side. I also think the game is starting to show its age. I looked at some videos for the CounterStrike:Condition Zero and its looks no diffrent...i am a graphics whore so to see that the game has not changed much was dissapointing. The sounds also sounded the same.
I wont be buying it.

i know. i gave up playing years ago for that very reason.
although tbh, i don't really see why people are still playing it. it's at least 6 years old now and looks very out of date. it can be fun if your playing people you know aren't cheating, but that chances of that are slim. plus, why spend time and money building super fast computers only to keep playing cs on? you can do that on a 350mhz PII, voodoo3.
give up on cs. let all these 12 year old cheaters who think it's "kool" play if they want to. there are better games that this now :)
I gave up when it caused the infinite loop problem in windows xp a long time ago, coupled with the fact i am on 56k still, which is such a huge disadvantage.
i stopped playing it, but i will be buying condition zero since that looks awesome

Condition Zero will now be released at the end of September.
I usually play from about 2AM onwards, so the kiddies are usually not there, but I prefer a well admined, lag free server.

I couldnt stand the game , just for the cheaters that killed it for me.
That and the camper shouting lamers , hold the area its called.
I moved on to DOD 1 and tht was good , even if more sinlge player than team player , then that was ruined by cheats (not campers) and bad maps , bad bias on weapons.
I play AA now on occasion , and I am just kak.
I hate q3 , ut , and most other frag games things like the bunny hop in HL just kille dit for me as well , those whom hit a key to do the defence for them in a script.
Thats why i likeAA it doesnt have bunny jump , I can see cheaters in that though , when i play as defence on one map i have no fleur yet i can be kiled be defence in the dark where noone should see without fluer.

you cant bunny hop in CS anymore
but itsstill not the same
some tiems if you find a server full of people who play the game properly thne i can have some good games
really get the heart racing at parts as well :)
but on the most part theres always at least oen person that ****es you off
am not playing cs much any more apart from with folk i know onour server
but think i', goig nto try get peole to move to playing MOHAA on it or soemthing

has it been pushed back further now?
i was thinkig it woudl be may/june time
there was mention of earlier but its hard to say
everywhere seems to say different things
if it had been soon then i dont think it would have stodd up against the rainbow six raven shield game which will offer a similar game but better graphics :)

Amazon and Play24/7 are saying CS:CZ is geting released on the 1st or March, they are taking pre-orders now!
Like you i thought CZ would be released mid 2003 not next month!!
Anyone else a fan of the Quake3 total conversion URBAN TERROR? I play it with me missus over my Lan, its really good, and has the ability to add bots too.
I'd suggest trying it, it really is the best multiplayer shooter I know of.
Love cs , sure there are some cheats but if ure either the admin of the server or friends of the admins cheats can be dealt with in mins.
I' cant remember the last time I played on a public server I only play on clans private servers that are well admin'd :)
The game is very enjoyable like this :)
haent found any other game that has the same feel to it, cant really be ****d with deathmatch games, and on 56k, most of the new gen games dont play well over the net :(

Well CS is still the best online game but I recently got fed up with cheats and lack of team play so haven't played in weeks, I'm sure I'll go back to it soon though, been playing it for over two years now and still play it reasonably regularly. Unreal 2 has given me my gaming fix recently though. If only CS had the details and glorious textures of U2.
I occasionaly like faster paced online games like UT2k3 but it's maps arent great and there are the usual people who have no clue on how to work as a team.
Battle Field 1942 is also a great game, slower like CS but with huge maps and a different style of play. Unfortunatly it often seems to attract more idiots who just like to hog the aircraft or tanks and never work as a team, often they'll shoot teir own team members down if they don't get to fly the planes, even if they had the last 5 in a row. The maps can get a bit repetative at times too and often you find yourself on a permanently loosing team as new joiners all go to the team that has the easiest time on a certain map.
CS has the same problems as all team based online games but it's easier to find a good server, usualy a clan admined one, and it has the best tactical play of any game I've played.
Try BattleField 1942, now theres a great online game :). It shows CS up for how old and outdated it really is.
CS as a decent game died a while ago for me, it aint really worth it now, especially if your on 56K dialup :(.
Install Quake3 and download urban terror! Trust me its the best multiplayer conversion going!

Tis a sad state of affairs the CS scene. Its going right down the pan. And im sad to say DoD seems to be going the same way, trying to find a server without peeps that are cheating is getting harder.
Ive started to play Natural Selection (http://www.natural-selection.org) but that 2 has a few cheats.
Hopefully when valve release CS1.6 it will sort it out.
Lets wait and see....

And CS:CZ is now delayed till September, had it on order over a year!!!!:D
you can get 1.6 now but you have to be using steam2.0....so its a no go for al us 56k ers
this or next month for 1.6 i think. but prob not.....as for CS:CZ fooooo.......ive given up, ill just go back to dod, or NS...

I tend to stick to 5-6 servers that I use on a regular basis, they're well adminned and any cheats generally get kicked in 3/4 rounds.

I tried cs a couple of times but never got into it, I'm still a TFC'er at heart, it may be old but it's still a great game.
The BY servers are usually very well admined too, not sure about the other mods tho.
