Here's another hot modded piece of Americana (although yet again it's Japanese, can't these guys get anythin right on their own?)

My scirocco, on TSW alloys, with fast road suspension, performance cam, big webber carb and a really loud janspeed exhaust.

Corners like its on rails, I took it round a round-about at 75, the car was flat, but the passenger was wedged against the door, and I was weged against the passenger!

Alas, now for sale, as the best quote so far was £2k. :(

I had an alfa 33 once, modded for use in the hot hatch championship.
Was a 1.5 bored out to 1.6
loads of engine mods, top end was 105, 0-60 was v.v.quick
Was completly road legal, just the one seat, alum dash etc.
People kept trying to race me, i remember the look on the face of the cossie driver as he tried to out accelerate me and i just kept up, waving at him.
Well, until we hit 105 anyways.....

Thats strange, considering a lot of the cars have been created in multiple, plus only americans like those ugly big graphics down the side :p
They may be Japanese import cars, that just means the basic car is of Japanese origin, Americans have a big US v import thing going on, half of them think a big old lump of iron is the answer for anything :rolleyes:

Wooooaaaahh... what's that machine in the background there (upper-left)? Looks summit like a Volvo RS4/6 - except that rear window looks awfully elongated (maybe just perspective?) Looks pretty nifty whatever it is :D

Speaking of stupidly large exhausts, has anyone been cruising down Ayr beach lately? What's with the little yellow Cinqueccento (dunno if I spelt it right) with the big centrally mounted exhaust? It looks weird, especially on such a small car. :D

Yea i've been goin down quite often lately. Hopefully ill have some cash spare to help mod my own car a bit more as all i've been able to afford so far are a set of alloys and some blue lightbulbs (sux to be a poor student :( )

Think I've seen that Escort down there, but never actually spittin flames like that.

I appreciate the work that's gone into the subaru, but it looks a little over the top in my opinion - the nissan is really nice, it looks like a really top supercar that's just rolled out the factory. I think that's the best form of modification - taking a reasonable car and making it look beautiful without shouting 'look at me' too much !

Nah not too keen on it mate, you wanna have a word with her. A true craftsman (or craftsgranny) in this case, would've ripped the bumper all the way down. If it's not done properly, it just doesn't look right IMO.

Guybirch, Herm and Rebel: The Skyline, in the new 2 Fast 2 Furious film, is not a Japanese Boy Racer's car. It's owned by the technical director bloke that worked on the film. (Who also owned the Supra in the first film).

He is a yank. You might wanna go look at either this, or last month's Redline -- The same car, is on the front, sprayed totally blue, and sporting an extra 230BHP to what it was in the film.

He was actually very annoyed with the colours they sprayed the cars ... Completely OTT of real-life. Nevertheless, he's just sold it for an obscene amount of money.

Just so you all know, heh...

I'm not very technical when it comes to cars, but I think thats a turbo ;) (or is it a supercharger?)

The engine is half back into the front of the cabin ;)

I tell you, it was insane. It sounded so nice too, not loud, just smooth and beefy :D

As I say, it did the 1/4 mile in 8.73 seconds after that first run, beating the dragster next to it (not a top fuel though ;)).

It was insanely quick :)

I got more pics of some other street legals somewhere, specially a Vauxhall calibre that was somewhat beefed up!

Anyone wants to see it I'll post it tonight :)

yeah ;) it is...

As part of the race weekend, all the cars in this class go on a cruise around the local villiage (Poddington, as this is Santa Pod I'm talking about ;))

Its a really site... We followed the cruise last year... The exhaust from this beautiful Corvette Stingray (1960's model) set off most of the car alarms in the villiage as it trundled by!

Truely awesome :)

Turbos are much preferred over superchargers both because of their ability to make huge amounts of boost while losing almost nothing to engine drag from having to spin that huge sc with the engine.

Sadly the 8 second Audi of John Sleath pictured here is no longer on the track after a 130 mph crash. Yes it was 100% street legal all 1000 supercharged bhp of it:eek:

Oh I have. Got both DVDs, in the box set. The 'Tricking out an Import Car' is on both, however is MUCH longer on the first film's DVD.

The dude that did all the work, can be quoted as saying that he hated the colours the director insisted they painted the cars. Something about them being nothing like what you're likely to see in real life.

That featurette has his Lambi in it though, at the beginning... He's also be quoted as saying that after the Skyline - he's gonna do the Lambi up.. Woooo hoooo! :D

hey foks. just thought i would add (after seeing that sweet 306) that i have a website that i'm trying to make for modded cars so if anyone would be interested in makin some pages with loads of cars and specs etc etc i would apreciate the help cos i'm workin alot. i would give ftp and mod privlages to someone if they would like to help out.
i have a nissan almera 1.8 sport that has been lowerd by (yes only) 30mm and a straight through exhuast system with 4 tailpipes. looks and sounds nice already and i aint even driving it yet :mad:
