A quick heads up on ACRyan's latest media player - the PlayOn HD2 (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_6086.html) is probably the most fully featured device of this type we've seen yet. Supporting both network playback (Gigabit speed) or installation of an internal hard disk, which can be populated by connecting to a a PC by USB2.0 or USB3.0 port.

Along with a whole new interface, the PlayOn HD2 now supports BD-ISO and DVD-ISO formats, for fully featured film playback.

Many audio output formats are supported too, all the way up to TrueHD 7.1 over the HDMI 1.3 port - all in all it's a neat way of having a comprehensive media player, but for a lower price than a full PC system.

I have a ton of 720 and 1080p .MKVs that my WDTV Live won't play audio on. This might do the trick.

Just in case there's a solution for your existing product - there's loads of info about custom firmwares and stuff like that floating about for the WD TV Lives. eg http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Live-Plus-Media/ct-p/wdtvlive
