Well can i say that Eminem is bloody brilliant in 8 Mile, one of the best films ive seen in ages, Kim Basinger also very good as his mum, excellent film
Film doesn't really appeal to me. More like cry out for help. I hate Eminem

u always get someone who has no idea that spams the silly comments " i hate eminem" blah blah blah
its a great film in its own right, even if u dislike his music style

Now I am a big follower of the hip hop & rap culture, but I thought that 8 Mile was a mediocre film. Certainly worth watching and makes a change from all the glorified gang type films that seem to be generalised with the genre.
I will leave you with a quote from the film (to the tune of Sweet Home Alabama by Lynnrd Skynrrd)
"I live at home in a trailer...." :D :D :D :D
:(I apoligize darkentity I have a tendency to blurt stuff out. I suppose I shouldn't diss prolly good film, tis just that the whole rap thing puts me off a bit. Was a fan of eminem when I was a bit younger but rap just isn't my thing anymore.

Eminem is an interesting character - I disagree with a couple of his morals / attitudes, but his abilities in writing are quite impressive - he's not stupid !!
8 Mile is actually a damn good film though - I thought it was maybe just going to be some pro-eminem show , making him look fantastic blah blah, but it highlights a difficult lifestyle and in most of the film he is working in a detriot stampworks... hardly the glamorous image you might have expected !
Is the film closely based on eminem's past, or is it mostly fictional and they've just used him for a face that people recognise?

It is based on a bit of both Graeme. It is true that he once choked up during a 'battle' beofre he was known. The part with regards to his mother is also supposed to be true, & has anyone noticed how much the little girl in the film looks a lot like his daughter (even tho it isn't). In reality the 313 crew in the film are really based who are now known as D12.
i saw it last night, wasn't too bad a film
could've done with subtitles at some points though

I thought Eminem was a really good actor in 8 Mile, he should really go on to do some non music related movies.
As far as the film goes, the plot was really weak and it left a lot of things untied at the end, but still worth going to see.

untied ending = means they can make a sequel and get more money usually :)
I saw it last night, thought it was really good, better than i was expecting anyway!
