Alright. So....
My computer got hit with a nasty piece of work that took effect almost immediately. No real surprise there...
I got the drive wiped clean but when I try to put in a disc, such as windows, for reinstalling the OS, it says that my harddrive isn't there.
However, all hardware inquiries show that it is, with no problem.

I was informed that this is a registry issue, like the virus deleted it from there.
Any suggestions for how to fix it?

edit:
I'd like to avoid having to buy a new HD for this, as much as possible.

Well it's not the registry, because while window isn't installed, there isn't a registry.

Sounds to me like you need to load the sata drivers for your motherboard.

What sort of computer is this?

Yup... that's what my money is on at this stage... but the make/model of motherboard (in particular) will help confirm it?

Try using SD fix, it may solve the problem by removing trojans & Malware which will free your computer and improve speed
