I have a friend, and by a friend I actually mean "a friend" none of this trying to protect myself crap!

Basically he asked me to get some keylogging software so he can log onto his ex-girlfriends email account because of reason's I shouldn't go into.
In short...he's had to leave the country under threat of death and doesn't want to go back as it isn't safe.
To me, that is a good excuse to try to get the proof.
He need's to get onto the person's account so he has proof to give to the police so he stops getting harassed.

He know's i'm extremely computer literate and has asked me for help, I'm still not too sure how to do it but i'm also skepticle about doing it for him as he could abuse it/be lying.

I've had many hotmail account's hacked and it really get's on my nerves, I'm having a conflict of opinions and am unsure of what to do.

He's even offered me money for it.

What to do people...?

Nope, get him to go to the police. If he's gen, then they will deal with it appropriately.

You're just asking for all sorts of trouble by getting involved to this degree.

However, I can see why you might want to help out a friend.

Any proof gathered by these means won't stand up in court, so it'll be worthless even if you get it

On a side note, even if you did get the key logging software (which is extremely easy to write, if you know the right APIs and shared memory etc), but how would he get it on his ex girlfriends pc, not by any means legal i bet.

Stay well clear of this.

What they said. If sh*t hits the fan you'll get draggd into it too. I can understand wanting to help out a mate, but when there's risks and threats (especially of death), I'd steer clear.

Where does this friend live turjekistan??? I wouldn't go near it unless it was my best friend who I would do anything for but still for a genuine mate I wouldn't.

As an aside, generally I find that if I have to ask 'Is it wrong.....', then I find that I've just answered my own question, it generally is.....
