Found out the hard way theres no display spanning modes for vista built-in,
here is one solution ive found hope this helps someone.

I have successfully used Synergy to do this with Vista and XP Pro, linking my work PC and my spare laptop, kind of a virtual KVM switch

Oh, and it's free
surely it wouldn't be too hard for nvidia to put spanning support in their drivers, after all xp is older and it works on that.
Does Nvidia include this in their drivers for XP? Spanning screens across a network, with no PC->Laptop connection
Horizontal spanning works on XP i can play my games on 3 monitors, its very good.

Ah, I see, you meant 3 monitors on 1 rig. I looked at your link and it looked like it was a pay-for-program to link 2 separate screens on 2 separate rigs. Ignore me!
