For their "Mojave Experiment", they found people who had bad impressions of Windows Vista but had never used it. They showed the individuals Windows Vista, but told them it was actually a newer version of Windows called Windows Mojave, and recorded their responses.

Aye... I read about that a couple of days ago.

It just helps emphasise, that there are still lots of people who simply repeat the nay-sayers/Vista haters, rather than speaking from personal experience

Most of the grief with Vista is the fault of 3rd parties who didn't get off their arses during the beta period to develop a vista version of their software / drivers... There's bits of vista I don't like, and I still find it slower than XP on pretty much everything, but I'm by no means on the vista hater's bandwagon... classic argument that XP was no different when it came out, for the most part.

Aye, I like and use Vista, but as I consider myself more of a 'power user', I've ended up turning off or not using most of Vista's new features, to the point all I really have is Windows XP, but one that runs slower.

Strongly suspect I might move back to XP at some point.... but since I play games very little these days, the effort is hardly worth it, so I'll probably just end up "sucking it up" on Vista :(

If I didn't play games, I'd use Vista...
I have Vista on my laptop (bootcamped) for desktop windows work, and XP on my gaming rig.

My laptop took a huge performance hit in games after switching to vista... enough to take graphics settings down several notches. That was a pretty good reason not to upgrade my gaming rig.
But for desktop work, Aero is a very pleasant interface to use.

Many of the bad experiences with Vista are due to exagerating the minimum spec to run it

The whole vista capable bullsh*t

Sure if you show people vista working on some brand new pc with loads of RAM it looks much better than if its running on a PC that was sold as Vista capable

Also you cant really judge an operating system based on a 15 or 20 minute demo from a Microsoft engineer, he is only going to show you all the cooler more helpful bits about it, its only after a few days/weeks/months of use that you can properly judge it. I don't hate Vista but I still prefer XP because I also find it faster and just as secure/reliable as Vista, also my DVD writer doesn't randomly disappear in XP like it sometimes does under Vista, granted a reboot often fixes it but I'd rather not have to do that, if my DVD drive is plugged in I expect to be able to use it, and the reboot doesnt always fix it and it takes a COMPLETE PC restore to get it back :(

If you've (as in the people in the video) formed such a strong opinion without even using it then 15 minutes is more than enough ;)

I like Vista overall and believe its a huge step forward for MS, hopefully Windows 7 can improve on Vistas faults while utilising the good parts (back end mainly).

So someone tell me where this 'stitching' feature is in Vista, please....? Sounded very cool - buggered if I can find it, and "Help" doesn't give me any pointers either... :-S

Actually yeah you are probably right, they do seem to be the kind of people who read something in a paper and it instantly becomes their opinion like they have had it for years.
