Demitri Flirt Divert

I don't know how many of you listen to Scott Mills, but those that don't are missing out tbh.

Those that do will know he has a feature call Flirt Divert. The idea is that you put a number in to your phone under 'me', and when you're out clubbing and some scabby ming-mong starts chatting you up, you give them the Flirt Divert telephone number instead of your real one.

Then when they call the number they get an answerphone, leave a message, and the message gets played on Scott Mills' show. There have been some hilarious ones, but recently some poor girl has been chatted up by a bloke called Demitri who has called and left two very creepy messages on the answerphone. You'll see why she didn't want to leave her real number when you click the link!

More amusingly they've taken the messages and mixed them in to Eminem's Stan, which makes some great listening. Enjoy....

i've heard some of them, and some are amusing.

however i've often wondered what the legal standpoint is on this, do Radio1 need the callers permission to broadcast these? assumed consent surely wouldn't be applicable as they didn't know they were actually creating Radio1 content.

I think that because they don't actually identify the person it's ok. Sometimes they bleep out certain parts of the message because it contains information that it wouldn't be legal to broadcast.
