View Full Version : Dualshock 3 for PS3 hits Europe

It was originally announced at the Tokyo Game Show in 2007, and then launched for the North American market in April this year, and now finally European gamers will get a chance to get their hands on the Dualshock 3 wireless controller for Playstation 3.

The controller features the wireless design of the Sixaxis wireless controller, but also has rumble capabilities.

Almost all future PS3 releases will support DUALSHOCK 3, and the controller is already compatible with many existing PS3 titles (firmware upgrade 1.94 required).
Dualshock 3 is the only Bluetooth controller combining vibration function and SIXAXIS features.

It will be available in Europe on 2nd July 2008 (i.e. NOW!), and will retail at approximately £32.95.

I didn't think it was such a big deal to begin with, but since playing a bit of Xbox again, you do realize that a slight rumble in your hand is cool!

Ive had one for ages, they are very nice. Much weightier than the cheap plastic tat that ships with the console :)

Add the Pro triggers and you have a controller thats actually usable :)

What are the pro triggers? That extension thing for L2 and R2 I've heard mentioned once before?

Ah ok, I've never really needed those in the past! Will be getting me a pair of DS3s however!

I dont know how you can use the PS3 controller without them, as after a few hours on Grid my fingers slip off the stupid buttons without them.

I wish you could use the 360 controllers on the PS3...sigh.....i miss their nice shape when im playing Grid....PS controller is still crap, i was hoping they would re design it :(

The controller for the N64 was the best, esp when the rumble pack was inserted. I do like the PS controller though, and so much better now that rumble is back :D
