A friend of mine was once in an exam which he didn't need to sit (it was an extra paper at AS Level for maths, which he wasn't taking on to A Level). Instead he sat there for the minimum 30 minutes and drew a duck on the front page of his exam script. He then left to revise for his afternoon exam, and got 4%.

Could have been worse!

Seen a report about students "Outsourcing" their Uni course work to people in India who will do the work to guarantee a pass for the equivalent of £5 - £20 a pop. :D

also in the last exam i took, the phrase "Up the Anus" appeared a few times and I actually got marks! :D

(*Note* it was a course in Forensic crime scene investigation and the question was about drug smuggling*) :D

I walked into a Maths exan at uni, filled in my name and didn't write anything other than "Yes I am as embarrased as you think" and still got 1 out 20. Why would they give me a mark for that in a Maths exam, I didn't even write any numbers...

you get 1 point for getting your name right Mojo :)

See now that's a joke, surely if you are at uni you have at least the ability to write your own name and therefore no longer deserve credit for doing it in an exam. Maybe in Primary 1-3 but not a first year uni exam.

Agreed, and you may not get a mark for it.

But when they bell-graph the results and possibly bump up the scores, you might get a point for nothing. All because there's an expected pass rate, that if not met, obviously means the lecturers aren't marking it correctly.

Of course there's no chance in hell that the students either weren't taught appropriately, or were just all too lazy to do well.

Meh.

It was partly this and partly the inability to do the work, having just scrapped a C at higher :o having the whole higher course and half the sixth year study course jammed into 12 weeks was a bit too extreme for me.
