Hi,
Just want your opinion on downloading movies from internet sites.
I want to know which is the best for getting mainly old movies and most importantly I want to burn these onto DVD, not to watch them on the PC.

Thank you.

movies via download is still pretty new in the uk. If your in the states then there are several movie providers... itunes probably the biggest. And recently they have started to do movies in the uk. I don't know how good there catalogue is (i don't use itunes) but it's worth a look. However you do only rent the movie for "x" many days. So I really can't see them allowing dvd burning as this would create a perminent copy.

you could always join a dvd rental scheme. there are many really good one's now most with massive catalogues of old and new. just depends if you want to keep the film or just watch it a couple of times and return it.

ps. or just hunt around on play or amazon or similar for a copy of the film your after!

Are we talking legal here?

To be honest if their old movies, you wont find them on aforementioned places (iTunes etc.) and even if you did it would probably be cheaper to go and find the DVD, or dare I say VHS.

itunes doesn't have any movie rentals anywhere other than USA at the moment. UK/Europe is "later this year".]

UK itunes has TV show to purchase, but not rentals.

itunes... lalalala ...but not rentals.

OK sorry. Was wrong. Sure that they were due to be doing movies by now. I guess all the legal bits n bobs are slowing the whole thing down.

Film rentals on iTunes in the UK has just been launched today :)

The selection sucks but I'm sure more will be added just like TV Shows.

Now hopefully the price of TV should drop here, like it did in the US after they announced Film Rentals. Perhaps even a newer TV at WWDC. I will totally buy one if it does.

i wouldn't think there will be any new device.

i have an appletv and it does everything that it currently needs to do.
