I was browsing around the forum when it struck me....there is no mention of Stargate worlds on here!

Stargate is my favorite tv show of all time, I must have re-watched every episode like 4 or 5 times....thats right I dont have much of a life :-P
I've just got my flatmate into watching it as well, against his will of course, but I believe he is also entranced by it also now!

I remember a long time back wishing they made a game for it and after a little research I heard of "Stargate Alliance" which sounded good to me.
Then about a month ago I thought to myself "its been aaages, whens it out" after checking the website apparently it's been discontinued :(

BUT filling its place will be "Stargate Worlds" an MMO using the Unreal 3 engine so you KNOW it looks good.

Little trailer for you there, I'm looking forward to it mainly because there are so many variations of planets you will be able to go to.

Most of you probably already know about this but as there was no mention of it when I searched I thought i'd make one for the unaware people.

I've gone off MMOs, don't have the time to invest any more now I'm working. I was also disappointed when Stargate Alliance was canned, but I supposed all games companies can see are huge dollar signs when they look at how much money Blizzard has made from WoW.

yeah true, however I expect there are a bloody large amount of Stargate fans, although I'm sure half of them will refrain from playing Stargate Worlds in the case it ruins the series for them.

It's amazing, Stargate was one of the longest running sci-fi shows out there and yet there were no games to date, think of the amount of star trek games there were!

I'm especially surprised they didn't make a stargate game after that episode when teal'c gets stuck in that game and has to keep playing until he wins, but he cant win etc.

I remember watching that one a long time ago and yet i could have sworn I have watched it all the way through since then and I havn't seen that ep, crazy.

did you catch ark of truth when that was on the other week? they snuk it onto sky 1 2 or 3 (can't remember) without much advertising, which seems daft as it was pretty cool! i'd have thought with it technically being the 'second movie' even if it was short, thought they'd have pimped it, unless i missed it?

I'm a big fan of Stargate. But I really didn't like that Ark of Truth film. I'm not surprised it is straight to DVD and hasn't been advertised very much. Disappointing.
I do however think there is great potential for a game.

lol I remember watching the ark of truth before release....some of the cgi didn't have any skins.

haha yeah i saw that too, missed the final production copy on sky, it was just like a long episode of sg1 tbh
ah well BRING ON THE GAME!!
