yeh the cinema was in tears in some parts of the film when Golam was doing the split personality scenes.:D

Indeed it is a shame to wait a year to see the next one. :(

I saw it last night, but I wasn't in a terribly good mood (that and I had 6 inches of leg room in our local cinema), so I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. Although I'll try and go see it again in a cinema with more leg room :)

As for the Smeagal split personalities there were alot of laughs, but talking to my mates some of them said they thought he was a bad person. I dunno about you but I think you have to see him as two people - Golem and Smeagal.

The fight scenes were great and the Gimli humour was brilliant, "Toss me. But dont tell the elf."

Yep the Sméagol/Gollum arguments are a great section of the book as well.

*spoiler ahead*

I thought it was pretty good, but actually I was a bit disapointed in parts.......the battle scenes especially Helms deep were nowhere near gory enough, (would like to have seen Urukai arms and heads getting lopped off and bloodspray etc) and the bit where Gandalf saves em with the riders of Rohan was a little far fetched for my liking....(riding down a sheer cliff face into thousands of enemies with a few hundred horses and then "ooh we won the battle!")

Otherwise a good film, just think a few scenes could have been edited better.

Fellowship of the ring 9/10
Two Towers 7.5/10

erm...

helms deep is the major flaw in the film.. if uve read the book u will know why :/

but other than that its mostly a great adaptation of the book

I must admit, I thought old Yosser, Bernard Hill was a terrible choice for king theoden seemed in places he was struggling to remember his lines.

Helms deep was edited so all you got was alot of motion of moving armour, sound effects of swords clashing but not much in the way of graphic violence which is what was really needed. They should have shown some urhukia arms and heads go flying and some good one on one sword fights, or close quarters battles. Instead it was just a mishmash of shadows and loud noises, much like the scene where the riders of rohan kill off the urhukia who captured merry and pippin.

It didn't emphisise at all that the battle of helms deep lasted 3 days so you got the feeling it was just one continual battle which appeared to just go on and on and on.

And if anything the scale of helms deep was all wrong (They'd have needed alot more battlements to fend off that many attackers) for aslong as they did.

The battle at Helm's Deep alone took 4 months to shoot as it was, if they showed any more detail it could have run on and on.
