Hello All
Bought an 'Asus E8800 GTS 320mb' from Kustom
I get glitches in Crysis when runnning in DX9 & 10 with Full Screen running 1024x768 due to it causing lag i aint playing with 1680x1024
spec,
AMD 64 3800
2gb Kingston Dual Channeling
Gigabyte K8... Board
E8800 ASUS 320mb
400gb hd
Vista Ultimate :(
Any ideas?
Yes, buy a more powerful rig. I haven't played it yet (only just installed it), but all the stuff I have read says it hammers hardware, even on powerful rigs. I suspect that 3800 is holding you back somewhat, unable to feed data to the graphics card quickly enough.
The website I found tested the 640MB GTS with Crysis on 1024x768 with very high and high settings and got 21/36fps respectively, but they were using a 3.2GHz Core2Duo, much faster than your 3800.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news :(
Cheers,
Stephen
It's crysis it doesn't play well on anything except 3 card sli :D
And the higher the res, the worse the effect due to more pixels.
And considering you host gaming servers etc I would have thought you would have known about the issues surrounding crysis etc

I know there is issues in the game and there hasn’t been a patch release as of yet, but it isn’t just Crysis. I’m getting the same sort of lag with DX9 in COD4.
This is only because I upgraded from XP SP2 to Vista.
And my stats for Vista are
Processor: Calculations per Second - Score 4.2
Memory: Memory operations per second - Score 4.9
Graphics: Desktop performance for Windows - Score 5.9
Gaming Graphics: 3D business and gaming graphics performance - Score 5.9
Primary hard disk: Disk data transfer rate - Score 5.2
Thought id add that, even thought it wasn’t necessary
so you upgraded, not a clean install ??

couldnt upgrade, still have all my XP files in the C:\ but the dir renamed as 'windows.old'
and it doesnt allow Dual Boot
Explain how it was installed then as it would either be an upgrade, clean install (with no windows remaining without copying) or a dual boot (easier if xp is already installed)
I would say the install arrangement is half the issue, the install isn't a standard affair and knowing windows I'd say that even as windows.old its still conflicting.

ok Windows XP SP2 was still on the Hard Drive, but when i booted the Vista disk it gave me the option to just do an Advanced Install. It wouldnt allow an Upgrade
