Sony Vaio Laptop Typing problem

Hi,

I am having a problem with a sony vaio of mine when I am typing something in a box it keeps moving the cursor away and I dont actually get to type anything so if i am not looking at screen it can stop me typing when i avent noticed. I dont know why its happening any suggestions to help me fix this?

Try using an external keyboard.

does it have a trackpad or a nipple to move the curser?

It may be too sensitive and the pressure of you typing is being read as a mouse click ( seen it happen on old Dells!)

Do you have any other advice on this as none of them seemed to work how do you go about replacing the keyboard?

I know solitaire said this, but make ABSOLUTELY SURE your hands are nowhere near the track pad when you type.

4 out of 5 times I hear of this problem are due to accidental input.

Consider giving the trackpad a good clean as well, making sure there's no dirt and grime round the edges that might cause accidental input.
